BEREAVED HUSBAND WRITES OF LOVE, LOSS AND FAITH IN THIS EMOTIONAL NEW RELEASE
Glimpse of an Angel is released by author J. Allen Wilson
When his beloved wife of 23 years was diagnosed with a swift-moving and terminal cancer, author J. Allen Wilson became her primary caretaker for the next ten weeks. Day by day Wilson stayed by his wife’s side thorough the horror of stage IV pancreatic cancer attending her every need until finally she passed away in his arms on her birthday September the 7th 2008; a day that they should be celebrating with laughter, not tears, thus leaving him alone and in the depths of despair. As a way of working through his fear and sadness during and after the ordeal, Wilson began writing poetry and journaling about Leah, and chronicling the love they shared. His original intent was to write all these memories and thoughts down and then send them adrift on the ocean they both loved so well, but as he shared his writing with others, they told him that they found great comfort in his words. Two months after Leah passed away; Wilson did make that journey to the sea of their love and released an unsinkable box ten miles out at sea off the coast of Savannah, GA. A box filled with their precious memories of a lifetime together. Memories and hopes of a lifetime to set to forever drift across the sea of their love.
Glimpse of an Angel is one man’s story of love, loss and faith. As a Christian, Wilson not only believes, but knows that his wife has gone to heaven, and is resting in the arms of Jesus. For Leah was born of the flesh on September the 7th, and borne by the spirit on that very day. This is comforting to him, but it does not staunch the flow of passionate grief that pours from his heart. Slowly and with time, he must learn to live without his beloved Leah. He urges readers to live every moment with their loved one with joy for he knows only too well that life is fleeting. His desire remains steadfast in that all should hear, to see and to know love unconditionally. Wilson is available for any speaking engagements where others may desire to listen to the words of a journey that we all must face someday. To schedule an engagement he can be contacted by email at Jallenwilson@bellsouth.net.
In the poem “Heart’s Lonely Door” Wilson writes, “I hear the cold steel door close as my world becomes dark once again. I hear the footfalls of others as they live in the splendor of life’s light. Constant is their movement as they pass by this lonely heart’s cold door. And I wonder if this punishment of mine will last for evermore.” Glimpse of an Angel puts into words the intense pain others might feel after becoming a widow or widower. Wilson writes straight from the heart and we can learn much from his experience. Wilson also has stated that a portion of sales will go to benefit Hospice, thus enabling the continued care of those who make the transition from this life to the next.

Soft pinks and lavenders filled the quietness of the evening sky.
The shushed rustle of birds drifted to the silence of night.
The full moon rose like unto a small pearl so gentle; so soft.
Below stood I beside my wife’s freshly dug grave
and the statue of a woman clinging to the cross.
I pondered our days in which we both labored under the sun.
I recall all the blessings in our life that the Lord God had done.
I remembered our trials; I recalled our victories and their cost.
Yet what I remember the most is how through it all,
my wife Leah forever in faith clinging to the cross.
Now that she is gone and I this little man feel so alone.
I think; I pray and I recall how God has always made the way.
now I too know what I must do and that is like Leah…
I am to cling to the cross each and every day.
